June-July 1999 Contest EntriesHere are the entries for the contest ended July 1999. Some are excellent, a few are efforts that need a little work. Regardless of how well they work -or don't work- I have posted them. This is in part due to the effort that was put in by the participants, and in part because I think that even a post mortem on dead code can provide learning opportunities which is what this site is all about. Thanks to all of you who participated you help make the site what it is. Special thanks also go out to Soren Christensen who helped review the entries -thanks Soren! Hard as it is to pick winners from among so many good efforts, this month's winners are Jean-François Pérusse in Contest #1 for his Kill'Em goose shooter entry and Brian Duckworth in Contest #2 for his Scheduler entry. Congratulations! They'll get to pick a book of their choice from Wrox Press. The other entries were also good and I encourage you to check them out and thank the authors if you find them useful. Other Entries
* There have been some entries that have used names or art of registered products or entities. I am not sure what the rules are for using these (mostly freely available web art) in non profit efforts like this and have added language to the rules to prohibit this in the future -it isn't worth the risk. All tradenames, trademarks, copyrights and other legal designations are property of their respective owners. If your company owns any tradenames or copyright submitted to us as part of a contest or tutorial and you object to its usage let me know and I will try to get the author to modify it or I will remove the item.
