Demo project showing how to use Whats This Help in a VB project by Bryan Stafford of New Vision SoftwareŽ - newvision@imt.net this demo is released into the public domain "as is" without warranty or guaranty of any kind. In other words, use at your own risk. The Whats This Help button is only displayed on a form with the "Fixed Dialog" style. As you can see, implementing Whats This Help does not require any coding on your part. You simply set the WhatsThisButton and WhatsThisHelp properties for the form to true and then add a context ID value in the WhatsThisHelpID property for any controls that you wish to display Whats This Help for. You must also set the Help File Name in the Project Properties dialog in the VB IDE to point to the help file you have created for your project. The biggest task that you face in implementing Whats This Help is the creation of your help file. There are several help file creation tools out there including the Help Workshop that comes with Visual Basic. You will need to be sure to add context IDs to your help file that correspond to the values that you set for the WhatsThisHelpID property for the controls in your project. I have included the .rtf and .hpj files used to create the help file for this demo in the zip file that contains this demo
